A helicopter blows rain off cherries at Beulah Orchards in Summerland, BC during a break in the record rainfall of 19 July 2007. Within an hour of shooting the video another downpour drenched the orchard again, necessitating a second flight.

  • something tells me these orchards are selling their cherries for too much if they can afford a helicopter to dry them.

  • Well you can look at it this way, it might cost a couple thousand dollars to dry them. How much would it cost if they didn't dry them and lost the crop?

  • People don't buy split and bruised cherries so the farmer have no choice but to spend 10's of thousands of dollars drying cherries.

  • Wow! Cool video. You'd think the cherries would also blow off with all the thrashing of the branches in the helicopter-wind.
