@transphatsmile I wish I could help you with that but I've no idea if there's a translation of her poetry or not:( most of her lyrics have strong social and political values which I wish I could translate them but I would rather not for two reasons:1)my English isn't good 2)I don't like much poem (I must confess I wrote once which I'm not proud of). Maybe you should try to contact her thru her myface good luck buddy
@theoyess i figured it was something like that. do you know if there are any English translations of the poetry/lyrics anywhere on line. or perhaps written out Ethiopian ones that i could spend hours trying to decipher(if nothing else?). i've seen her say that the hardest thing is that people might not know what she's saying. i hear a lot of music in different languages.sometimes i feel like i know what they're saying even though i don't know the language.
@transphatsmile she sings about her home country Ethiopia and its centuries old histories. She is praising and how proud she's about her country and express her resentment/worries towards recent ethnic division which is affecting the social fabric.
shes' got soul. this album had it's own thing about it...i like it. i ride my bike deep in the woods listening to her. any one know about and English translation to her lyrics?
what a blast from the past! i remember my mom always listening to this song!
