  • 0:38-0:41 ..she understands the 'evil eye' lol.. Ricki is doing great. ..is she gonna be getting evaluated sometime soon? (my pup that's her age is getting evaled this saturday)

  • @YOURstalker16 We meet with our puppy leaders twice a month and also fill out a monthly report so Ricki is evaluation the entire time we have her.

  • @GuideDogManiac ..yeah, I know we fill out the monthly reports, but will she like meet with your cfr to see if she's ready to go back soon?

  • @YOURstalker16 Oh, our CFR comes every couple of months. I'm not sure when exactly she is coming next.

  • hi i have a australin shepherd and he is really energenic like ricky he gets really really jeolous even if i pet my other dog he runs up and pushes her out of the way!in the winter my dog cassie love to go outside but when we open the door he has to be the firts to be out or in do u have any tips to help???

  • @tfunny101 Well teaching her to wait before exiting is always helpful. We have tie downs in our house so if Ricki get really pushy about getiing attention over Eli she is put on a "time out" on the tie down and physically can't reach us. If she barks or whines on tie down she is not released until she is quiet. She is really getting the idea of taking turns for attention and it makes life so much easier.

  • Like me, if you're here because you like to DANEBOE !!!

  • I love these videos! :] I'm 18 and legally blind, and while I'm not sure I'd qualify to get one (or ever really need one, though I will be using a white cane soon), I've always thought it would be really awesome to have a guide dog. It's humbling to think of all the work that goes into the puppies to make them able to help someone. Thank you for the time you put into this! (It's also fun to watch because I can tell you love what you're doing!)

  • i loved seeing how to handle the dogs. great topic!!

  • great video...........keep up the awesome work

  • I've been working with guide and service dogs since 2000 (I'm a blind and became a wheelchair user in 2004). I've worked with 3 dogs (one for a school, and trained 2 myself). I know they are not feeling well or something is wrong because of how they move, their mood, how they act etc. O notice something is happening with my dogs long before anyone else sees anything that is out of the ordinary.

Socializing and proper handling of these puppies could decide if they become working dogs or not.
