Showing the first two levels of the singleplayer campaign.
It's really just a series of botmatches.
A cool feature though is that you get bonuses for acquiring specific medals (Killing Spree, Headshot and Humiliation IIRC) that gives you weapons and armor on your first spawn in the next map you play.
Also, your chosen character ranks up, making them tougher, faster, carry more armor, what have you.
It also alters their appearance, which is really cool. Sadly though, this also makes them unbalanced for splitscreen multiplayer (No option to disable their improved stats). Still, there are a lot of characters to choose from.
For regular multiplayer, a match can have a total of 5 bots (With 1 player). It is also possible to use bots while playing splitscreen, with each additional player replacing a bot. The game also supports multi-tap.

I like this game, it was actually one of the first PS2 games I bought. But yeah, loading times could definitely be better.

To this day I still wonder just what a Quake 3 single player game would have had to offer.. this will always be a lot of fun though!

jumping seems to work a bit on the ps2 have be preety good moving fingers from one button to another to do strafe jumping

The only thing I don't like about Q3R is the loading speed!
