81db - Evaluation - Nice Trip

COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT - I do not own this song or the picture, they both belong entirely to 81db.

Time to challenge your idea of how heavy rock music sounds today.

81db was formed in April 2006 by guitarist Kostas Ladopoulos. The idea was to make a modern sounding group by combining melodies and heavy riffs with folk elements derived from Kostas Greek origins. This is music that challenges the mind and your standards of rock. With every listen you may discover new ways to comprehend it. After some changes of line-up the band found its solid formation. William on vocals brought an alternative rock feeling and a touch of the american sound (William is half American) to the vocal lines and matched Kostas (sometimes crazy) compositions perfectly. Filippo on drums and Vieri on bass became the solid rhythmic base of the 81db sound.

81db finished their first demo CD at the beginning of November 2006. Around 500 copies were freely distributed to people at concerts and anyone who liked what the band was doing. The response was overwhelming and so much so, that at the debut concert of the group the club was completely full! Meanwhile, more material was created and the band played 12 concerts in 6 months. Various local and international pod casts and radios played the song Voices and got positive reviews for the home-made promo CD. On Dec. 2007 "Nice Trip" went to no.1 metal song of 59.330 songs in the US Music Network, Soundclick! Comments like "Extremely Original" "Without musical limits" "Psychotic sounding" etc. arrived from reviews of the EP, which were exactly what the compositions strived to reflect.

In March 2007 81db along with Fabio Bianchini, started filming a video of the song Voices. Craziness and creativity led to an extraordinary result. Later the web platform Digichannel with rock videos (and not only) from around the world, chose the Voices Video Clip to be in their home page.

In the beginning of 2008 the band signed with a new-born label formed by the experienced Orions Belt records/RNC music and a publishing contract with EMI Italy. A few months later Deep Purple invited 81db to open their Torino concert on 13 July 2008! 81db played in front of 6000 people and the show went beyond any expectations with many new fans embracing the 81db innovative sound.

In the meantime, after many successful international reviews of their 4-track self-produced promo EP , many people have become extremely curious on what's to follow. In June 2008 the band entered the studio Larione10 of Florence to record 12 tracks and now the time has come to find out what these guys have been up to this last period.

With their debut CD, Evaluation, out on 20 March 2009 for Orions Belt Records/RNC Music and published by EMI Italy, the band explores the infinite world of notes promising a 50 min. musical journey that will play and challenge your emotions, ears and minds.
The album Evaluation is also available worldwide on all major digital stores and its available for Licenses.
