What Tharu was saying is absolutely correct... It certainly brings you to Mahamewna Uyana...Such a beautiful song of maestro Amaradeva which takes you to a state of bhavana with his song...
Many thanks for you..

This is awsome! If you listen to this song with closed eyes, you are automatically teleported to 'Mahamewna Uyana'!
Beautiful visuals too. Special thanks for the photo of 'Sri Chandrarathna Manawasinghe'

Thanks Vidhura for this original song. Really this song feels some kind of "Meditation' . You know I really like this song.

Priyantha, this is a true classic by any point of view. In fact do you know Manawasinghe is a true son of Ruhuna? he was born in Puwakdandawa, Matara. Perhaps you are familiar with that area. Thanks for the comment.

ooh, One of my favorite Maestro Amaradeva's songs.. Such beautiful lyrics (from Manawasinghe; I hadn't seen a picture of him before this video) and music. It's ethereal and up lifting.. a truly timeless classic.
Thank you! Is this the original version?

Manawasinghe did so much to Sinhala literature that not many people talk about him nowadays (may be as he died in 1964).
My father had shown me so much of his classics and I cannot believe the quality of them compared to nowadays Sinhala literature. Especially the poetry written on 'Negenahira Werala'.
I have a whole collection of Manawasinghe songs bought from Radio Ceylon sometime ago. The picture is from that tape sleeve. Sadly, I couldn't see any picture of him on the internet.
