We pulled alongside his vehicle, motioned for him to pull over; he refused," Officer Walter Park Lii said. "He decided to take a U-turn and evade me."

The chase quickly went into downtown Houston. Police stopped southbound traffic on state Highway 288 before the fleeing driver exited onto the South Loop westbound to the Southwest Freeway toward downtown.

The driver, whose name was not released, frequently drove on the shoulder to avoid traffic and hit a few vehicles.

"It was pretty nerve-wracking because when you see them coming down the freeway like that, I thought they were just going to go past me," said Lonnie Hooper, who was hit near the Northwest Freeway and Hempstead Highway. "My first reaction was I was going to maybe go onto the service road to get out of the way, but the officer, as he was squealing and turning, the officer went past him. I couldn't really go forward. I just had to sit there and eat it."

The driver occasionally went onto surface streets, but quickly opted to go back to freeways.

Police also stopped southbound traffic on the Southwest Freeway when the driver chose that route. Once he hit traffic, the driver crossed all of the lanes of the freeway, hit a curb when exiting Newcastle Drive and headed westbound down Richmond Avenue.

The driver led police through several more surface streets and at one point ended up on Westheimer Road headed toward the Galleria before winding his way back to the West Loop and onto the Southwest Freeway southbound.

The chase, which reached speeds of up to 80 mph, ended when the driver spun out near the exit for Beechnut Street.

Police pulled the driver out of the vehicle and took him into custody.

Investigators said the driver, who is from Pennsylvania, would be charged with evading arrest.

The driver was treated at the scene for cuts and scrapes he suffered in the crash.

  • this is the first "camera in front of TV" which doesnt look like horse shit.

  • Whats funny is that when I wanted to take alook at some police chases, this pops up.

The guy here running from the police I used to work with at Admiralty Marine and Engineering right here in Houston.

He was a little bit of a fruit loop to begin with, but sometimes you just don't know about people, the story about Pennsylvania is true. When you put what little inheritance you get jipped out of up your nose. Well you can't be surprised when this happens.

    He still is a dipshit.

  • 3:14 police block half the highway lanes. 3:40 tow truck block the remaining lanes on the highway. 10:11 police go to macdonalds for a strawberry shake to chat how hard their dicks got after that chase.

  • what a waste of s5 tail lights the 1 is totally destroyed & rx7 cause its prolly gunna get crushed :(

  • Just another beaner in a stolen car. boring

  • All for a seatbelt violation

Wonder how many citizen's lives were put in great danger by the LEOs themselves?

After the helicopter came on scene all the LEOs had to do was to back off; the guy would've slowed down, and the chopper could've tailed him anywhere and had the LEOs there mo ricky tic

    But nooooooooooo

  • you suck

  • @mayhemSWG but you have to also consider that when you go into regions that have faster police cars that the criminals and such also have faster cars to get away as well.. so as that may be the case here in america.. its a different story elsewhere.

  • @diverseent Yeah the way he drove he thought he was in Fast and Furious anyway ;) And once the cvar skid he desperatly searched for the reset button ^^, and totally agree a Merc with a 5.0L standard brings 387HP, AMG with a 3.2L Kompressor 354HP, that 4.6L with only 250HP is sorry a joke. But the G9 Police Concept that is actually a Holen Statesman SS from Australia should bring more power ;)

  • @diverseent yeah i got confused when i was replying lol might sound retarted. hahaha ford pc91 is a hunk of trash.

  • @mayhemSWG not necessarily. just means it might not have the stock top mount inter cooler setup. and being a 4 or 5th series makes a noticeable power difference. Found this..." the Polo GTI Cup Edition, which was tuned to around 180 PS (132 kW; 178 hp)" i dont see this v8 powered one you mean? but i tihnk comparing cars of the era is only fair. putting a 2002 vs an 86 rx7 inst fair by any standards even so... its slower... in the end i think wouldnt know for sure till they raced. lol
