Every good punk band that I know of played their instruments well in a way that was suited to what they were doing. This idea that nobody could play their instruments is ridiculous. Having limited musical ability is one thing. Standing onstage playing punk rock star and pretending to play bass while your amp is secretly unplugged gives new meaning to the term "poser".
