Shelby the quiet Bombay meows.

Feeding the cats, Shelby keeps trying to meow. She has some trouble vocalizing her meows, and often opens her mouth to have no sound come out.

The Bombay is a man-made breed. This is a short haired cat that comes in only black. It is noted for it's sleek black coat, enormous strength, and large copper penny eyes.

The Bombay was developed by Nikki Horner in the late 50s. Her goal was to create a miniature black panther by crossing a sable Burmese with a black American Shorthair.

Many Bombays have the Burmese "purrsonality" which means they are very relaxed, friendly, intelligent, and people oriented. Some owners describe them as "lap fungus" or "velcro" because these cats always want to be close to their people. They actively seek interaction with humans and love to play games. Many will retrieve and perform tricks. If you want a bed kitty, a Bombay may be an ideal choice, because many will sleep under the covers with their human companion. Bombays may or may not be "talkative", but they are in no way as noisy as the Siamese or Orientals. They are well adapted for house or apartment living since they are generally calm and quiet in nature.

This cat reminds me of my moms male cat, Scribble. He looked just like this but man was he a grump. It was funny though because when bed time came around he would run straight for my moms lap and curl up and purr. R.I.P Scribble

We had a cat from the shelter. he was a bombay i believe he meowed constantly when he first came in untill he got up on our lap and kneaded us and drooled abit. super cute <3 <3 I miss him now. He passed away a few years ago and i still miss him.

I have a bombay too, He's a lot like this in the sense that he climbs up like that.Tango on the other hand talks all the time and yells at me if I'm not in the same room with him, or when he's hungry or bored. I love him to death!! I have a couple videos on my profile of him when he was a kitten.

I go to the Kitchen, open the fridge, and the first animal/person is next to me is my Cat, i look at him, he looks at me, he looks at the fish i got in my fridge, he looks back to me, sleeps infront of the fridge, i close the fridge, i walka way...

No joking, this happens in less then 50 seconds.
