Google I/O 2010 - HTML5 status update

Chrome 201

Ian Fette, Jeff Chang

Where is HTML5 today? What new features are now broadly supported, what features are on the horizon, and what features are on the chopping block? How do we decide what to implement, what to propose, and what to drop? Find out.

  • jesus christ, seriously?? 58 minutes??? wouldve loved to have been there..

  • HTML 5 is the greatest thing that ever have been done, looking forward to HTML 6 and so on.

  • @emperorkang yes I know there aren't many but they do exist including at Google it's just they are never taken seriously no matter how good they are they can (almost) never be in the elite. In chemistry, biology, medicine, geology the situation is somewhat better

  • @sondano there are not many women in the IT industry, to begin with. its not that they can do this stuff, it just that they don't want to.

  • how come i searched steve-o's stand up comedy and this came up?

  • @sondano i know total sausage-fest

  • All good but...

I have a hard time to convince users to make more use of google apps ( spreadsheet, docs, presentation etc) then I'm watching this presentation from the developers of Google Chrome OS, Google Apps using on their presentation Windows OS and Power Point !!!! What's wrong with you guys? Isn't it Chrome OS good enough? Isn't it Google Presentation good enough?

It's like Apple doing the Keynote on Power Point, introducing new Safari on a Windows OS.

The only thing you got right

  • Is this an all-male club or what? Ridiculous

  • This seems (perhaps) the only possibility to ask developers a simple question There is the help-forum but no seriousness there - few answers So let me please pose a simple question and you foreward it : In youtube you can get rid of a comment IS THERE ANY EVIDENCE THAT , OUTSIDERS HACK THAT FUNCTION OUTSIDERS ( NOT THE CHANNEL OWNER ) OR GOOGLE/YOUTUBE engineers Because I have proof it is done REGULARLY and totally not in a harmless way please give me an engineer to discuss this with.
  • @MrCS95 Since HTML5 has support for mobile cameras, webcams/other interfaces should also be supported in the future
