This is the Pub in Cambridge where Watson and Crick discovered the secret of life. They sketched out the structure of DNA (the double helix) on a napkin here at 'the Eagle'.

  • Watson & Crick didn't discover DNA, they stole Rosalind Franklin's work and published it before she could.

she died at age 37 before she could contest those thief's.

if you want to come up with a great idea, go break into a scientists office at the university.

Agreed... its so sad that the glory is extended to just one group when others were clearly involved. what is more Watson has proved himself a fool with his racist clangers and far out there nonsensical comments bringing the whole area into disrepute and misrepresenting biological science when we all know the man was a structural chemist not a Genetiscist, but try to tell that lot to the uneducated masses who think his racism now a truth about black "stupid" Africans man..

  • The case of DNA was a strange one, many areas of science were researching it however they merely knocked on it's doorstep. Watson and Crick put these together and indeed gave due credit to all their sources of information.
