  • @Anime998877 ...To put it simply, Rubens was more suited to the car during the second half of the season. Jenson was more suited in the first. Yes, Jenson was lucky to win the title by such a narrow margin. But that doesn't make him undeserving. Despite the tyre issues, Jenson remained calm and kept scoring points, which is vital for the championship. He never made a mistake and only retired once when he got hit. And yet you say he drove like a muppet. Seriously, stick to anime!

  • Interesting fact - this was the 2nd year in a row that an englishman, in car #22, finished 5th in Brazil and became world champion!!

And I disagree with that. 2009 was unpredictable only in who had a strong package for the race. However, the races were uneventful and in no way tremendous. As for 2011, the action, that disappeared real fast after the Canadian GP. Comparing 09-11 to 3 absolute borefests of seasons to prove a point is again irrelevant, it doesn't take away the fact that the new-gen cars has not been able to bring what was promised: an improvement in excitement.

  • @CaboArmorKing - Well, I happen to disagree. The 2009 season was great but it became apparent that the Red Bull wasn't reliable enough, which made races unpredictable, and a 4 way fight for the title in 2010 was a great way to end a fantastic season.

The only year that was remotely boring was 2011 simply because it was obvious that Vettel would win, but the action was insane. Compare 2009-11 to 2001, 2002 and 2004, and the last three years have been tremendous. They, by no means, have "sucked".

  • @FormulaOneFan4Eva

I never said any of that, don't put words in my mouth.

You said that F1 was great in the last three years, I strongly disagree with that and I told you why.

I am very well aware of the season where Riccardo freaking Patrese finished in front of Senna in the standings, because the Williams was that good, but that is irrelevant, since I never compared eras, the only thing I said was that the current era did not meet expectations thus far. And thus it sucks.

  • @CaboArmorKing - Are you trying to tell me that unmemorable championship battles are only a feature of modern F1?

Well I guess in that case you should have a look at 1992 and 1993, case closed. The fact that Seb ran away with a title doesn't mean Formula One as a whole has become less exciting, as drivers have been doing that for half a century.

If the sport really has lost it's lustre according to you, then by all means, don't watch it.

  • @FormulaOneFan4Eva

Childlish reaction. I can drop that one back to you and tell you to watch oval racing because of the constant overtaking. Also, tv figures ≠ quality.

Obviously, in any form of sports, the championship battle is the most important. The most memorable seasons are those with great championship battles. 2011 had a great first half of the season and then dropped off dramatically. 2009 never was exciting, compareable with the Schumi-years.

  • @CaboArmorKing - Naawwwwwww, what's wrong? Favourite driver not winning? Oh well, F1 getting more boring must totally account for the rising TV figures and the record number of overtakes in 2011. Go and watch NASCAR, the title always goes down to the wire in the series, therefore it must be more exciting.

  • @FormulaOneFan4Eva

2009 and 2011 says hi. Seriously, 2 out of the last 3 seasons were boring. The new-generation cars, which should supposedly bring more excitement, are a failure.

  • @crazykillaishere - It's an expression, it means your suffering from nostalgia, get a grip, F1 has been great the past 3 years.

  • @FormulaOneFan4Eva - What on earth are you on about??????

  • @kathrynashworth1 - your an idiot, why would you inform me of your mothers death? Like seriously, what the hell is wrong with you. And I didn't even say anything bad about Button as well. I just said brawn GP eventually dominated implying that I thought it was a boring season. Why would you share your suicide story as well on the internet. Looking for sympathy votes there mate. Good luck to ye in the future
