a suggestion for to improve turning (i know its way too late now): If you have a robot which is set up length wise (as all are this year), and you don't want to use casters or omni wheels (b/c you want more traction), use a 6 wheel design and place the middle wheel about 1/8" to 1/4" lower then the outer ones. This way only two (relatively close) wheels contact the ground during turns, greatly improving turning radius. You should be able to do a dime turn if made properly.
Also, what regionals are you going to? We (#192) are going to san jose and san diego.

my one question for you all is, and i know your on concrete, is that really your turning radius or is much better then that?
