I wonder if they ever showed this before Star Trek? After the peacock spreads his feathers, the screen would go black out and zoom to a space shot and we hear the words "Captain's Log, stardate (whatever said stardate is)"

This and the 20th Century Fox CinemaScope logos are my all-time favorites.,Thanks for posting.

I clearly remember this peacock, from winter of '57-'58 when "Tic-Tac-Dough" was on
Thursday nights(pre-scandal uncovering)--our little town of Endicott,NY had a color set in the window of Burt's Department store, and piped the sound to the sidewalk. I was 9 yrs. old.

That's the original "Atomic" peacock, which was later replaced by the "Psychedelic" or "Laramie" peacock in the 60's.

@fonna What year were you born in? Do you also remember the NBC "Laramie Peacock?"

Trippy!

I agree. It reminds me of the royal fanfare when Anna is first introduced to the King of Siam in "The King and I."

Thank You for 75 years of good memories..

Sounds vaguely "Arabian Nights".
I bet it'd be pretty cool seeing this at the beginning of a Hanna-Barbera cartoon being shown on NBC

This is the original version of the peacock, with which NBC introduced their color programs between 1957 and 1962.
