  • I've always loved this band, first saw them in '67 or '68 in the Haight Ashbury at the Straight Theater.

  • I wonder how this song would be viewed by Egyptian music critics who involved themselves in the overthrow of the Mubarak regime? Am I right in hearing Yiddish melodies? Just now I discovered thru a google search & a youtube video that there was a club in NYC 1968 called "Egyptian Gardens". Not hard to believe that the band is referencing that place.

  • The "Egyptian Gardens"had absolutely nothing to do with Egyptians. It was owned by Greeks and was a place where people went to listen to this type of music end enjoy the beautiful Belly dancers. The above mentioned song captures the feeling and tone to a tee. It would be great if we could leave political correctness out and just enjoy this great music Peace to all.

  • un vero trip!
