  • Unless that road is closed, riding into the other lane is a game of Russian Roulette. What happens if you hit a nice gravel patch?

  • The road was closed to motor vehicles when this was filmed. Walking the road insures that we are aware of the road conditions.

  • how fast do they max out at there? and about average speed?

  • Top speed is in low 40's. Average speed for most runs is around 30-35mph. If this run was truely 3.5 miles in 6.15 min., then that distance divided by the (6.15min/60min)hrs. gives an average of just over 34mph. I have heard the grade is between 4-7%.

  • Where are u guys I want to do that!!!! Please tell me!!!!!

  • The Portola Valley hill I'm referring to is...

Start: Los Trancos Rd and Ramona Rd

End: Los Trancos Rd and Oak Forest Ct

  • Can someone tell me what GMR stands for and where it is? A google maps link of the top & bottom of the hill would be super helpful!

I haven't boarded in 5+ years but want to get back into it. Last spot I remember bombing was the straight away on Los Trancos Rd in Portola Valley. It's just shy of 1mi and you can reach 40+ mph near the top. There was also a great adjacent residential road (Buck Meadow Dr.) that had some smooth road to practice on.

    Thanks in advance

  • i don't mean to sound like i don't know what i'm doing cuz i've been boarding for a while now. but i dn't have a lot of money. i'd like to know do i have to keep dishing out cash for shoes or would learning to slide be of any value? is it a candidate for slowing down at these speeds? i can already slide, but not on my favorite DH board.

  • the fastest i ever went was 40 miles and i was scared for a moment

  • cameraman's bicycle needs new brakes.

  • You cut your own friend off.

  • wow the brakes on your bike suck

  • If you guys had to stop, how would you?

  • @ferrisnox

With all proper safety gear of course.
