[ Wednesday December 15th 2004 ]

Every Wednesday off, Selena would stop by at the local coffee house down the block before heading to the library; it was almost a natural incentive to go there. As usual there was a long queue but she didn't mind, as she'd do just about anything to get an iced white chocolate mocha. Once she got her drink she would leave and head for the local library.



Once she reached the library she would say a quick hello to the librarian Amanda and greet the other residents before she would get lost into the world of literature. Books were her ecstasy, her addiction, her drug. Reading was euphoric, and the library offered her with more books than she could ever imagine. She picked two novels of the shelf and sat in her favourite spot in the squishy armchair in front of the non-lit fireplace.



Selena was engrossed into her fairly thick book she didn't notice the young man who now sat across from her. He just sat there not saying a word but instead he simply observed her. The way her honey coloured orbs sparkled as she read each sentence and the way she absent-mindedly discarded a strand of her hair behind her ear. "What are you reading? The voice asked breaking the silence that filled the gap between them.



Startled, Selena looked up to see Nick perched in the next to her with his signature smile painted across his face. "What are you doing here? How did you know I would be here?" she fired questions as fast as her tongue could move.



"Are you playing 20 questions, if so, shouldn't you be answering mine first?" he asked as he arched his eyebrows, the corner of his lips curled into a smug smirk.



Selena playfully rolled her eyes and crossed her arms across her chest. "I'm reading Persuasion by Jane Austen," she replied. "Now what are you doing here?" she asked.



"Well I thought I'd have a look around the town when I came across the library" he simply put it.



"Any particular reason why?" she asked curiously taking a sip of her mocha, savoring the cool chocolate sensation in her warm before letting the thick liquid travel down her throat.



"No reason, just thought I'd see what it was like" he replied nonchalantly as he shrugged his shoulders.



"I'm beginning to think you're stalking me" she raised her eyebrows as she waited for an answer from him but was greeted with laughter.



"Is it that weird for a guy to go to the library?" he inquired.



She playfully rolled her eyes, "you know what I mean" she said.



They continued to talk about various topics and Selena continued to laugh at his witty jokes and comments making the librarian occasional tell them to keep them volume level down. The book in her lap lay forgotten.
