April 19, 2008 was the annual Bobcat Day celebration at UC Merced. UC Merced's Bobcat Day unites prospective and admitted students to the newest University of California campus. Bobcat Day affords students and their families an exciting opportunity to do the following:

- Take campus tours
- Chat with world-renowned faculty members
- Meet other students who may become their classmates
- Learn about the different academic programs and extracurricular activities UC Merced offers
