In 2002, my wife Heidi and I visited some friends in Pérols, France and were privileged to watch a traditional sporting event called "encierro." The object of the game is for a team of young men to pull red cockades from the horns of an angry bull. The film's visuals follow the minimal repetition of Reich's music and slowly builds and evolves from the men & bulls to children and finally animated gesture drawings of them.
Illustrations were done by Heidi Haun and the coloring of the illustrations was courtesy of Rachel Kang. This short was edited with Adobe Premiere Pro, the illustrations were composited with Adobe Photoshop, and the soundtrack is a movement from Steve Reich's "Electric Counterpoint."

this is a much better sport than those bull fighters in SPAIN, MEXICO AND COLOMBIA, where they kill the bull in such a painful way and then call It "ART" how ignorant can these people be?

@MsIkbenleuk Actually, this is a sport in France. The bulls are not harmed in any way and belong to local farmers in the community. They are returned to the fields after the games where they can continue impregnating female cows at their leisure. I wouldn't exactly call it cruel or barbaric - it is nothing at all like bull fighting.

The children in the arena,hopping and running to and fro...Quite cliche,lack of thematic originality.. :( Anyhow thanks for the sharing.

Yea, those stupid cliche kids. I tried to get them to stop but they were just so giddy. I'll let you know when I've finished my next video of Emo kids at a bull fight.
