http://www.the-valve.com - Step by step home recording session with tricks and hints on how to mic and record a great guitar tone at night in apartment using the "Bimbo" by The Valve amp with Power scaling.

The video shows a complete recording with a list of devices used for the demo and also shows which mikes were used and how they were placed.

For the recording were used the following devices: Cubase5,
Akg C 414 B-XLS,
Studio Project B3 (optional) mic,
Shure SM57 mic,
Ibanez Tubescreamer ts9 for the solo.

  • I had to watch one part 3 times to figure out you were walking down stairs. Glad you didn't have a 4x12 up there :-) Those stairs would be hazardous. My Wife complains about volume all the time, but my hearing isn't what it used to be so I cannot tell it's as loud as it really is. Nice mix at the end.

  • @hawg427 ahaha we brought a 2 x 12 up there but me peronsally never brought up a 412. I think it's impossible.

  • @TheXWnR You need an audio interface there are some very cheap around for one mike only

  • So, i don't understand, you're using all three mics to track and put the sound all together?
