This fruit is one of the strangest looking fruits grown in Hawaii, yet despite its looks has an elegant taste and texture similar to the Kiwi fruit. Dragon Fruit (Pitaya) comes from a Cactus plant and the flower blooms only at night; they are large white fragrant flowers, typical of cactus, that are often called Moonflower, Queen of the Night, or Night Blooming Sereus. The fruit is rare and not available on a daily basis. Someday, enjoy the opportunity to taste Dragon Fruit.
