I hope this is a better version of the one I posted earlier this year. If you like it please rate it and leave a comment. It's always nice to get some feedback. Thanks for watchin' and listenin'. Hey Sam here're the lyrics and chords I use for the song:
D Listen children A to a story Bm that was written long ago
G 'bout a kingdom D on a mountain Em7 and the valley folk be A low
D on the mountain A was a treasure Em7 buried deep beneath the stone
G and the valley D people swore they'd Em7 have it for their very D own

D Go ahead and hate your A6 neighbor, G go ahead and cheat a D friend
D do it in the name of A6 heaven, you can G justify it in the D end
D there won't be any trumpets A6 blowin' G come the judgement D day
D on the bloody mornin' G after--------one tin soldier rides away

D So the people A of the valley Bm sent a message up the hill
G asking for the D buried treasure, Em7 tons of gold for which they'd A kill
D came an answer A from the kingdom, Bm with our brothers we will share
G all the secrets D of our mountain, Em7 all the riches buried D there

D Go ahead and hate your A6 neighbor, G go ahead and cheat a D friend
D do it in the name of A6 heaven, you can G justify it in the D end
D there won't be any trumpets A6 blowin' G come the judgement D day
D on the bloody mornin' G after--------one tin soldier rides away

D Now the valley A cried with anger, Bm mount your horses, draw your swords
G and they killed the D mountain people, Em7 so they won their just re A ward
D now they stood be A side the treasure, Bm on the mountain dark and red
G turned the stone and D looked beneath it, Em7 "Peace on Earth" was all it D said

Hey, I'm so glad you like the song. It's been one of my favorites since the first time I ever heard it quite some time back. Do you play guitar? I hope so. I'll be lookin' for your version of "One Tin Soldier" on youtube soon..

  • Hi Sam, I posted the chords and lyrics on the youtube site but I haven't been able to figure out how to format the thing so it all ran together but I think it's all there. If I figure out how to format it so it's more readable I'll repost it. Do you remember that song, are you a baby boomer like me? Thanks for postin' and have a great week-end!

  • hey nice video man. what chords do you use?

  • Hi, thanks for postin'! I'm still at work but when I get home this evening I'll try to get the chords posted, ok? Thanks again and have a great week-end.
