Born Marie Dionne Warwick on December 12, 1940 in East Orange, New Jersey , Dionne Warwick was a force of nature. She sung in her father's church at the tender age of six. Later, she became a part of the Drunkard singers gospel group and did a lot of local appearances around New Jersey. At age 22, she was signed to her first recording contract with Scepter Records and the very first song she recorded was "Don't Make Me Over" which did well on all the Pop Charts. She had some 88 recorded songs in her singing career.
CAN'T someone post her song "Shall I Tell Her" here on You Tube? I believe she sang that on her "pink" album titled "Anyone Who Had a Heart". I always liked her - I've heard she can be a bit of a pain in the neck but I like her anyway - just saw her in concert and she was great !
