Here at Ring of Fire, weve been covering the crazy antics of Glenn Beck before he became a pseudo-celebrity on Fox News. Since then, this talking head has evolved from someone who occasionally made outrageous remarks, to a dangerous ideologue with equally dangerous followers. This past weekend the Fox host announced that he would be teaching his followers how to become a strong political force in this country, and that he would be writing an instructional manual to show them how to supposedly take back their country. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. talks about how dangerous this man really is with Karl Frisch, a senior fellow at Media Matters for America.

  • @DaHonestAbe not a big Hannity fan but, are you kidding me? John Stewart from COMEDY CENTRAL is where you get you perspective on the world? That is where you find information and look for truth? You people are like cartoons. No sense of honesty, honor, fair play, self preservation or personal identity. You libs are pathetic. It is no wonder this country is in so much trouble.

  • Wrong! I have watched Fox, and watched it get further crazy. However, even Beck has now abandoned the birther's hoax.

"You libs are pathetic. It is no wonder this country is in so much trouble"

    -Geez, ain't that the truth.

  • Air America is DEAD for good reason.

  • LMFAO Air America huh no ones cares about what you say, that is why you went bankrupt LOL for the second time LMAO you fucking liberals really think anyone cares what the fuck you think or say.

  • True progressives believe the same. We may have differences on political beliefs. But regardless, accountability must be demanded. I'm really saddened to see where conservatism is going. What happened to thinkers like Buckley and Sapphire? You must be dismayed at the noisemakers running the show. They behave the way liberals used to! And too many in office waited until Jan 20, 2009, at noon to begin acting fiscally responsible to be taken seriously.

  • Look at the Clinton Admin: taxes were raised and the deficit was reduced after Reagan's massive deficits and tax cuts. That's very generalizing, I know. But, historicaly, deficits have been smaller under democrats than republicans. Ike (who's not liked by conservatives) was the last fiscaly responsible republican (budget surplus). Whatever our philosophies are, niether of us like runaway spending. It's too early to tell the long term actions of Obama, but he can't blame the last admin forever.

  • "True capitalism would rise to the challenge. And there would not be a nanny state where risks are socialised and gains are privitized." This is exactly what conservatives are talking about, we want true capitalism not what you have mentioned above. So we absolutely agree on that point

  • maulhoik I wasnt really talking about wars. Taxes reduce deficits? Please explain, Im not sure what you mean. As far as Republicans spend more than democrats, I seriously doubt that, this administration proves my point. As far as how much people make, I really dont care, as long as they dont get to make laws. If you dont like to work for $8, then work for another company.

  • The government has played a role in times of crises since the beginning of the republic. And it's corporations that run the government, not the other way around.

And keeping us safe does not include spying on our phone conversations and quaker meet ups. Wars that are sold by media outlets have nothing to do with our security. Quite the opposite.

Taxes have in the past have reduced deficits. We must also cut waste and NO side wants to do that: republicans are even WORSE than democrats.

  • Playing by the same rules that we must causes collapse? You want to see rivers on fire again, but one example?

And exactly where are these businesses ( where the employee makes $8 an hour, while the CEO makes $6,000. an hour) "collapsing? They cant make a profit without rape and exploitation? Don't even say that doesn't happen.

True capitalism would rise to the challenge. And there would not be a nanny state where risks are socialised and gains are privitized.

  • It was not just about oil. It was also ideology: our fundamentalists verses theirs. The Iraq war is a hate crime, period.

As far as oil, it was not so much about taking the oil, it was coltrolling it, for various reasons. Did we need Irans oil 50 years ago?

Mexico? We use their blood in our factories. It's human oil; war without a shot fired. The situation is the way it is because we want it that way: the left gets votes, the right gets cheap labor.
