Chris makes a classic, one pot meal. He makes a traditional St. Patrick's day dinner. This is a dish where the earthy flavor stands out thanks to the root vegetables. Simplicity is the key ingredient to this meal. Being able to let each vegetable's flavor shine was Chris' main goal. The corned beef was nice and tender when sliced against the grain. This dish is a simple winner.

  • Corned beef and cabbage is an Irish-American thing. Corned beef was a cheaper alternative to bacon for Irish immigrants in the 19th Century.

  • why use rutas? are nt you supposed to use red potatoes?? thats what real irish use...

  • It's more of an American Irish dish. But I'd eat it none the less. :)

  • is this guy stoned?

  • I love this guy's facial expressions.

  • I remember when you 1st moved to this country, how you barely spoke any english and how nervous you were, I must say, we were to.

  • It tastes good with sweet potatoes cooked in there as well. And about the water thing, it depends on how big of a Corned Beef you're cooking, you want enough water for it to be completely covered and still have enough water for the veggies so their covered as well. The amount of water doesn't have to be measured.

  • oh shit, it's the smile police

  • women ere created to cook, men were created to relax

    and drink beer

  • just a tip ... peel all your vegetables all at once ... then cut all your vegetables all at once ... it'll allow you to prep your mise en place at a more efficient pace. you say you're the bachelor chef ... wouldn't kill ya to smile for the ladies.
