  • Gee...he's only 54yrs old here but looks alot older! By todays standard guys & girls in their 50s look alot younger! L'Oreal must been doing something right!

  • This 'charme' is lost for ever, there's no such kind of singers anymore.

  • Love this song so much. Luxembourg & Switzerland were my favourites of '81.

I think dear Jean-Claude has just returned from his holidays. Look how lovely & brown he is :)

  • @artsed08 Oh, my apologizes if I gave the impression to discredit your opinion... It was not my intention. By the way, with "French songs" I meant of course songs sung in the french language. It is a fact that Jean-Claude Pascal is a real crooner, and like wine he grew better and better with age. For the rest, let's enjoy the music :)

    Regards.

  • @Zuxilbaja Well, I apologise for not being a connaisseur of French songs - or even Luxembourgian songs - but I prefer the melody and performance of "C'est peut-être pas l'Amérique". I tend not to watch Eurovision for songs with a message. "Boom-bang-a-bang" comme on dit chez nous.

  • @artsed08 You kidding ? "Nous les amoureux" is one of the greatest french songs ever for connoisseurs... The fact is, if you can't understand the lyrics, you miss something. But I assure you that the message of that song is much stronger than "C'est peut-être pas l'Amérique". "C'est de la balle" comme on dit chez nous ^^

  • The story of this song and of its conductor Joël Rocher can be found in Mr Rocher's biography @ andtheconductoris.eu

  • This is WAY better than the song he won with in 1961 in my opinion... but by 1981 it was just too out of date. Amazing that this was in the same year as 'Making Your Mind Up'!

  • Jean-Claude Pascal reste pour moi le plus beau et le meilleur chanteur de ma vie,je suis fan pour toujours. Jeannine

  • How come it's got Irish commentary when the logo in the corner was that of Austria's ORF?

  • @lwsmackie4 People are also smoking a lot less these days. :-P
