Severino Gazzelloni (1919-1992) is soloist in this performance (which I believe dates to the late 1950s) of the Boccherini flute concerto in D major, Op. 27. (The orchestra is not identified but it is probably the Angelicum Orchestra of Milan that accompanies Gazzelloni.) I created this video from the LP that is shown above, originally manufactured sometime in the mid 1960s by Audio Fidelity (under license from Angelicum in Milan) and subsequently distributed under the Radio Shack "Realistic" label. (Note: If you look closely at the full size image of the LP label during the course of this presentation, you will see the serial number "FCS 50029" to the left of the spindle hole. That number corresponds to the original Audio Fidelity recording.) Unfortunately I do not have the jacket that held this LP.
From this same LP:
Bach / Gazzelloni / Canino, 1960s: Sonata in G minor for Flute and Continuo, BWV 1020 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5COcXfe764E
Debussy / Severino Gazzelloni,1960s: Syrinx, L 129 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVGr6517fp
I'm looking for the flute/piano version of this. Anyone have a recording?
