Some impressions of my usual commute on the HP Speedmachine recumbent bike. Some nice (slight) down hills and a great ride through the Berlin government district along the channel. I love this route (except the cars).

Dist. 7,5 km
Vavg 27 km/h
Vmax 47 km/h

Bicycle: HP Velotechnik Speedmachine

Camera: Lumix LX3

  • Nice commute video! You get some good speed to match the cars there! looking forward to more videos from you! I will subscribe to your channel.

  • @dregerclock Thanks! I don't match the cars on my way home since then I have to ride uphill. Also most streets I ride are 30 km/h zones. Most car drivers seem to respect the speed limit only on the down hills where they often brake ME out :-/

  • It's a good and safe way! you lucky dutsch.

  • Very nice your video.

I also began with a Speedmachine. Only 60 km from the purchase 12_2010

With my weight of 75 kg, I have solved the DT swiss around 7 bar set at 5 amortissenent turn.

when it mounted high (steep slope> 10%) the dual drive24 mit 11/32 is not appropriate: too hard to pedal.

I will test a three plate normal (old shimano biospace) with t 24_32 min.

See you soon with new video

  • @dregerclock It is the Lumix LX3 photo camera. Makes decent videos up to 720p HD but has the same problem all photo cameras have when "abused" for video: hard back light (even strong reflections) produces vertical stripes across the whole display.

  • @1whitespeed what camera are you using? I have the hero GoPro (standard res) camera... and seriously considering upgrading to the HD version.

  • @rod1148 Very simple - just some stripes of adhesive tape to fix the camera on the helmet. There are more sophisticated mounts but I won't invest so much in the current camera. I'll better get a real video camera like the GoPro HD (which has better image quality and much more mounting options).

  • I like this but how did you mount your camera?
