@theshninja actually BJJ came from Judo, the reason why BJJ is known as brazilian jiu-jitsu OR Gracie Jiu Jitsu is cause at the beginning judo was known as Kano Jiu Jiutsu

@JACKOTACO Sort of... The judo that BJJ came from was called jujutsu when it branched off, which is why it still bears that name (however, Romanized differently as jiu-jitsu).

@HyeDaViT It does however come from the same lineage of Japanese jujutsu that judo does.

@carlsongracieteam Cant have Jit today and Kick boxing Tuesday but I will leave with this next time do a judo tourney before you come on here bashing something you know nothing about I have seen plenty of Jit guys in Judo tourneys and some times the win & sometimes they lose but they at least tried they learned to respect the art of Judo

@TheDeathTriangle Jigoro Kano was the Jujutsu Master who founded Judo as a sport form of the combat Art of Jujutsu. He called his school the Kodokan.
