Anyone who has a problem with this has been conditioned to believe that cartoons are for kids only.
This was all about the immigrant experience in New York, and as anyone who's seen Gangs of New York knows, it was often an ugly life. Here you can see all the gritty dirty rough edges as lived by real people - as well as some weird cartoony poses.
Too bad some people can't appreciate a good slice of history...
