Volunteer Sean Phelan Commemoration Liverpool Feb 2011

Sean Phelan was an IRA Volunteer who was born in 1900 in Evelyn Street, Kirkdale, Liverpool, and died in February 1921, in West Cork, fighting for Irish freedom against British forces.

In 2011, 90 years after Sean Phelan was killed in action, the struggle for a true Ireland of Equals, can now be achieved by purely peaceful political means. The tactics may change, but our goal remains the same: A United Ireland and the establishment of a Socialist Republic. It is therefore right that we, the Liverpool Irish, should honour the memory of a true Liverpool Irish Patriot
