This particular bird has been visiting me for almost 5 years. Cracked corn is its favorite snack. A flock of 6 used to come. I think mean a Falcon killed them. This smart bird was once being hunted by the Falcon and came to me for protection. I really think it loves me.

I've got a pair that I feed every day in LA. One by hand like yours, while its mate waits on the telephone line, waiting for me to throw the food on my roof. I give them unsalted, unshelled peanuts. They eat a few and hide the rest. They must have a thousand hidden around the neighborhood at any given time. Once a year or so they bring a new fledgling with it - it just does whatever its parent's do - the first day a fledgling showed up it fed from my hand...
