  • Dark energy is what's expanding our Universe very rapidly, dumb-dumb! Not dark matter!

  • Well, yeah. That was a mistake. But the vodcast does a good job of explaining some concepts which might be difficult for the casual viewer in a clear way. If this gets their attention and they decide to go learn more, they will be exposed to the correct definitions of dark energy and dark matter. If they don't, the mistake doesn't make that much difference either way. I'm just glad that these things are being made so accessible nowadays.

  • you'd think they would have noticed that when they edited it.

  • Exactly what I was going to say. Dark matter was "invented" first to explain discrepancies in galaxy rotation curves (and galaxy cluster structures as well I think), dark energy to explain discrepancies in the hubble constant over the distances HST can measure.
