My super old mixer (Stanton SK 2F) vs. my brand new Rane TTM56. There is no comparison. I knew that ahead of time. I just felt like making this quick video.

  • Ur Sk 2f sucks. Cuz mine will bounce all the way back.

  • @glict What an amazingly insightful comment. Thank you for telling me my Sk 2f sucks. That is why I bought a new mixer AND made a short video highlighting the suckage of my Sk 2f. The fader in the stanton isn't the focus fader, it is the standard version.

  • thats a minute of my life i'll never get back

  • A whole minute? Did it take you 32 seconds to press play or something? The video is only 28 seconds long. Maybe the fact you commented on it, you know, actually taking the time to complain about how much you disliked it instead of finding a video you DO like, is what wasted your minute. Therefore I am only responsible for wasting 28 seconds of your life and YOU are responsible for the remaining 32 seconds. It is much more your own fault for your wasted minute of life.

  • The best part is that it stays like this for years after I lubricated it only once after I bought it. And you can make it even lighter by applying a very simple and safe spring mod (but you probably know about it). The only thing I don't like that much about the faders is the click sound, it's kinda soft. I find it much better on Eclers and Vestax 05s.

  • @emixcube imo channel levels don't help much since different records have different RMS, meaning equal levels =/= equal perceived loudness.

  • there is no competition as cash´s cuts go "on & on & on.....

  • i have the stanton sk2f for about 10 years now, fader was the bomb back then but damn that rane fader looks even smoooother.

nice nice and once again nice

  • -The Empath can display levels for each channel if you press the cue button but that is a pain in the ass. Also, the compressor built into the Empath is awful for mixing, and is supposed to help you ge tthe levels right for your turntalbes, but like i said, if there were VU meters for each channel this wouldn't be an issue anyways. Rane mixers are nice but awful values for how much they cost

  • rane mixers feel great to use. the station where I work got an Empath several months ago and its great. However, unless I was going to but a ttm56, I would try to avoid rane mixers like the empath. The biggest problem with the empath is that it does not have VU meters for each channel. If you are serious about mixing you are going to want VU meters for each channel so it is easy to get your levels right.
