  • Many thanks for sharing your treasured images. I was born in Hong Kong in 1951. I vaugely rememered sitting on my dad's shoulder watching a colourful parade not knowing what was it about until I was a little older when my dad told me.

  • Must have been quite an experience for you!

  • I love old Hong Kong.

My old home has a cup with the wordings of the coronatrion of QE II in 1953. The cup was given to my elder brother from his school in 1953.

  • Yes, with the older generation these dear memories still linger. The festivities were quite an event at the time.

  • These uploads are really precious. I was born in 1952 and grew up in Hong Kong living in Public housing. Family of 5 lived in a unit of 120 sq.ft. Public water, sewer and bathrooms. I need to tell you all that I had a very happy childhood because of my family. Material cannot trade happiness. Thank you very much Michael!
