Dr. Michio Kaku discusses the history of sciences. He provides examples of how society has been linked to science going back 500 years ago. At that time China was the leader in both science and society. They learned they were #1 and stopped investing in science which caused the society to break-down and the Europeans to rise.

  • I totally agree wit Dr Kaku.

The Malaysian prime minister ws Dr Mahathir, he is the one who wrote tht religion suppressed science advancement in the middle east.

But this same old guy introduced the same religion in Malaysia and made Malaysia a racist based country. How irony?

    How do I know?

Well, I am living in Malaysia for 36 years was born here. But special treatment is only for the Malays who are Islam. Other race are side lined ( Chinese , Hindu n Christians) This is the true other si

  • everything in the universe have a system .. who created this system

  • Religious fundamentalism destroys prosperity that Science creates!

  • @BigPoiDog all those greek & roman idea's were inspired by Asia. especially Buddhism. They heard of Asian idea's & opened there minds & questioned things. Yet Buddhism doesn't brag aboot this.

  • Religion? Forget 'bout it!

  • @BigPoiDog greek and roman empires? he was talking about the 1500s.....

  • whats the name of the song?

  • With all due respect, Dr. Kaku, you left out the great scientific discoveries during the Greek and Roman empires... It appears all great civilizations go through cycles of brilliance and darkness.

Are we at another transition point now, with the economic dominance of America -- fueled by innovation -- rapidly falling from it's high perch? Have Americans become too fat and lazy? The U.S. is a net importer of brilliant minds, because the environment is still conducive to the freedom to innovate.

  • If China didn't cancel its Junk fleet, it may have had control over Earth.

  • "They turned inward". Yes, that was it. I fear we are rolling down the same path. The lack of general public interest / excitement in space exploration and technological progess nowadays is disappointing. Looks like we need another Cold War to keep us on our toes.... without competition / threat to our way of life it appears we stagnate as a culture and even recede. Shame.
