  • Does chicken keep better or longer canned? as opposed to freezing?

  • @kantwinnada I think so because you dont have to worry about freezer burn. From what people have said it can last up to 2 years. I would not want to eat chicken that has been in the freezer for 2 years. Thank you for the question and watching the video. It means so much to me.....

  • Congrats on a great job! I love using my canned chicken. It is so easy and the chicken tastes very good. When I can my chicken I add some bullion. It adds some flavor to it.

  • @ssamorgan2044 That sounds good. I wonder if you can tuna for tuna salad sandwiches?

  • Excellent ! I too am looking forward to my first exploration into canning. i hope to get some pickling done soon too.

  • Nice job Paula. We haven't canned any meats yet, still learning. Always good to see how someone else does it. ;-)

  • @Ziva4Freedom Thank You Ziva

  • @Allen2045 I usually do pints because it is, or was ;0) (my kids lost their home and have moved in with us) just my hubby and I. I've actually made my pints into chicken salad for sandwiches and it was WAY better than the canned Costco chicken! I put a little chicken broth in mine along with the semi cooked chicken and wow, it was SO good!

  • @Allen2045 No I haven't tried that. As far as meat goes, I have only canned chicken and roast beef. Both have turned out well. Right now I have sweet potatoes in the canner. ; )

  • @Allen2045 It's a number 921, but I don't think that means size. I can put 9 pints on the bottom, and 10 pints on the top with a divider between them. I don't know how many quarts it holds because I've never canned with quart jars.

  • @therealvirginiawind What size canner do you have?
