Hard to believe that the only things you have to do to use iceberg lettuce in a salad are to rip off the outer leaves and pull out the core. I'm used to pulling apart every piece and washing them -- which can take forever! If these are the only 2 things that need to be done to prepare iceberg lettuce, I'll be eating a lot more of it in the future!
Wait a sec- this lady does not wash the interior of the head: she just rinsed the exterior then cored it. Other online cooks seem to go further, rinsing through the core hole. As iceberg lettuce grows can its interior leaves get dirty (and require rinse) or not?
Forget sarcasm. Thanks for the video. It was helpful, in a pinch. Even though I have previous knowledge about water as a cleaning solvent (as your video was teased about) that doesn't make it a bad idea: my questions were about which way to slice the lettuce head (ie longitude vs latitude) and if you first subdivide the head. I'm not tryin' to cause problems, I'm just saying thanks for your lettuce cleaning and slicing videos!
