I dig it!

@Keeper1st Yeah, without improvisation, she's performing out of style and is making it unmusical and turning it into muscle memory. I just find it hilarious that she talks about the importance of improvisation in the style but doesn't actually do it.

God damn I would put money that Ms. Trick doesn't have an improvisational bone in her body. This is so goddamn rehearsed. Hell, I hope she keeps fooling into thinking she can improvise because amurrrrican can't seem to tell either way.

@evifnoskcaj There's no fooling involved. She makes no secret that she meticulously works through and polishes her performances well ahead of time. She may envy the improvisational players, but the improvisational players envy her technical skill. It's all good.

By far the best and most talented player in any of these ragtime festivals. I'm in love......

And she's only 23. She had the privilege of playing a duet with Neville Dickie that weekend, who commented, "I didn't play like that 'til I was 54!"
Check out her YouTube channel "stephtrick" and you'll find a couple videos of her playing Bach on a pipe organ.

@idasynco Yes, she said she came up with this after listening to many other stride versions, so there are influences from many other people in there.
