Carter: Can you PowerCLI?
PowerWF: Most definitely.
In this demo we run a couple of workflows inside of PowerWF Studio (http://powerwf.com) that were translated from PowerCLI one-liners found on the net (thank you http://www.peetersonline.nl/i and http://halr9000.com).
Note: the VIToolkit and PowerShell activity libraries will both be available in the next beta, PowerWF for VMWare Enterprise.
PowerWF Studio is a suite of tools leveraging PowerShell and Windows Workflow for automation and administration of physical and virtual environments. Leveraging VMware's PowerCLI, VIX API plus several other PowerWF activities packs, PowerWF Studio for VMware offers levels of automation typically only seen in enterprise class solutions. The product supports management of VMware Server, Workstation, Player, and Virtual Infrastructure (both ESX and vCenter).
On review, I should have recorded the creation of at least one of the workflows (dragging and dropping the activities onto canvas and setting properties) so you could see it being made.
