I read the comments from CBH and Poseidon with interest. I would like to say that an AED is not essential to save a person's life. Basic life support (CPR) can do just fine. It all depends on what initially happened to the person. If he had a cardiac arrest due to asystole then an AED has no role. Only in case of ventricular fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia an AED will be useful by cardioverting the tachyarrhythmia into a normal rhythm.

@CBH Well I can tell you this bro, My neighbor (who was "clinically" (no pulse, no breathing) dead) is a very grateful and ALIVE man today (8 days later) after 14 successful cycles of CPR! You can believe what you will. My hands are of course not magic, but very well trained to perform a very basic cardio-pulmonary technique, that, if administered in a timely manner "can" save someone's (as I did) life. You really should research and educate yourself before downplaying something that matters

@CBH You cannot be more wrong buddy!!! The only reason I am looking at these videos on YT today is because on Friday (good friday) I saved a man's life utilizing CPR. He was dead when I got there and alive he is alive today. He is still in the hospital today, but well alive. It is my hopes today that anyone and everyone learn basic CPR. If I ever have this kind of Cardiac problem and go down...It very well may be you I need to rely on to save my life!!! I learned CPR in the US Navy!!!
