Apologies for Reporting Taiwan 228 Massacre? (勇於報導228真相而須道歉?

Over the last 60 years, Taiwan TV media reported very little on the Taiwan 228 Massacres in 1947, in which the foreign KMT party regime butchered thousands of Taiwan residents - just for easy future KMT party authoritarian ruling.

Even though February 28 of this year (2007) marked the 60th anniversary of Taiwan 228 Massacre, the foreign KMT party to date still has a strong hold on Taiwan Legislature and government body and controls almost all the news media. Thus, the truth and stories of Taiwan 228 Massacre remain little known to young residents in Taiwan. Since 1947, the KMT party regime has imposed a martial law in Taiwan over nearly 40 years, the longest one in world history.

In February this year, we (the families and friends of Taiwan 228 victims and martyrs) were so grateful to see that Miss CHEN Yar-Ling of Sanlih SET TV had the great courage to edit and broadcast in public a series of special reports in commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of Taiwan 228 Massacres of 1947.

As expected and as usual, the KMT party and its supporters fought back. In early May, they attacked Miss Chen and Sanlih SET TV for using a short section of wrong footage in this special series that showed some soldiers of KMT party regime executed captured communists in Shanghai, not in Taiwan.

We must point out the fact that to date only TWO photos of the thousands martyred corpses in the Taiwan 228 Massacre have survived over KMT party regime: one photo of Mr. CHEN Cheng-Po (a renowned artist) and the other of Mr. Wu HC, the uncle of the present KMT party chairman. Indeed, during the 40 years of suppressive martial law in Taiwan, the KMT party regime has successfully erased, forged or hided almost all records of the 228 Massacre, and by means of oppressive bureaucracy very few teachers dared to discuss the 228 Massacres in public schools. Consequentially, the majority of people born after WWII in Taiwan do not know the truth of 228 Massacre and the brutality of the foreign KMT Party Regime.

What KMT party regime has done to Taiwan residents during 228 Massacres are much much more cruel and bloody than that small section of wrong footage had shown. Many survivors have testified to this. For example, many innocent civilians were captured and bounded with metal wires piercing through their hands and shoulders, and were thrown all together into waters and drown; some were buried live in groups...

Why should KMT apologize at all for this? The Taiwanese deserved this, and more. In WW2, the Taiwanese pledged allegiance to Japan and emperor Hirohito. They considered themselves Japanese. They were part of the Axis of Evil. 200,000 Taiwanese served in the Imperial Army, and they were sent to kill, rape, and torture Americans & Chinese. And they invaded China first, they were our dreaded ENEMIES. You are lucky we didn't drop the atomic bomb on Taipei for your sins.

the so called victims of 228 Massacre, were acutely with armed at the time of the incident. They were Taiwanese communists. Before the government's military force arrived, the communists already killed thousands of people on the whole island of Taiwan,including women and children, who were from the mainland and worked in the new government positions.

The whole thing of 228 were distorted by the green party for their own political gain.

KMT was so corrupt it got kicked out of China. How can it be a good government? Did they really change for the better? @Emnsta The KMT was forced to admit. They were abandoned by America, by the Chinese people. They escaped to Taiwan and have nowhere else to run to. That's the reason why I had to apologize. Do you not know what happened between 1947-1990s? The demonstrations and rallies never stopped. Taiwanese people were only able to vote in 1996. From 1947-1996 Taiwan was no different than China. We did not have the right to vote! KMT can stop pretending democracy is a gift from them. It's not.
