  • im going through this at the moment with my 5yr old, and its so upsetting, she dosent kick but she screams and crys with a panic look on her face. her eyes are wide open but darting about all over the place looking for whatever shes seen

  • I use to suffer from them when I was little, I actually can still remember the nightmares, and to be honest they werent that scary (most of them) more weird.. I would see things crawling up the walls, faces in the curtains, things like that.. *shivers*

The way my parents described what happened when I was having one (screaming with my eyes open)

Your daughter will get through this stage, and will have a peaceful night sleep soon! Best wishes xx

  • My grandaughter just had one of these. We were ready to take her to the ER!!! kicking, screaming could not comfort her, and then like a light switch, done! When she woke up, happy, fine. This was just SCARY!!!

  • I'm happy that I'm not alone because I'm a kid and I get night terrors a lot and it's usually me screaming and yelling HELP and running I just think that I'm gonna have them every night so I get scared but I try to forget them I sleep alone in a basement and I know it's kinda weird to say this because kids my age usually don't but the dark down there makes me see things and creeps me out sometimes

  • i haven't had any experience with them (thank God) but i've heard that it's good to wake them up about 30 minutes or so before the time they usually start.

  • My night terrors would make me hallucinate when I was a child; I would be half asleep and see pretty scary stuff and that I do remember even now. But when I would have a full blown night terror, I wouldn't remember anything in the morning, let alone know it had happened.

I'm 23 and I have night terrors rarely, but still have them. I usually yell out and scream but remember nothing.

  • i can so identify with this,my daughter started at 2 years old and she is now 5 years old.At least 3 times a month, sometimes even as much as 5 days straight. She bolts up from a what appears to be a peaceful sleep screaming and tries to get out of bed her arms go stiff and she seems to be pointing at nothing(or maybe something she can only see).Sometimes she gets violent hitting, biteing or kicking, she does not seem to notice us stareing through us.all do is make sure she is safe and ride it out

  • I've only had one to my recollection, all I remember is that I was screaming/screeching out loud.

  • sometimes i wake up with a tiny memory of my basement, then when i leave my room my family told me i randomly walked down into it and just stood there..

  • @iamvenus yes it is

  • This makes me cry really sad...

  • My son is 2 1/2 and every six weeks ir so he will have one every night like 4 days in a row and it is exactly like this.... only he sometimes has his eyes opened and looks like he is awake.
