April 25, 2011 Lacub, Abra, Philippines --- Uggayam is a traditional chant of Igorot indigenous people in the Cordillera Region. Usually, it is a song spontaneously delivered by a community leader challenging its young audience and fellow elders. This chant welcomed guests during the first night of the 27th Cordillera Day. It is an annual activity organized by the Cordillera People's Alliance (CPA) to commemorate the victories and struggles of natives in the Cordillera heights collectively known as Igorot.
