I know what you mean. Look, USA were successful in creating a great nation from different people. Look for example, Texas was a Spanish speaking country but USA managed to assimilate it.

Europe was one, it was the Roman Empire, for some reason it was divided. A Gallic Roman (French) was not different compared to a Romano-British and so on. Spain is closer to Germany than to Algeria or Egypt for example.

This is why Europe had a history of 1500 years
of bloodshed like the Napoleonic wars.

An excellent point. However, it is a collection of completely seperate nations. The US states are not completely seperate and never were completely seperate. They have not formed a United States of Europe. And they all have a very different cultural legacy. Ever been to those nations and looked around? Italy is very different from Britain and Germany is very different from Spain and etc. Plus, the European Parliament has no real governing power over the seperate nations that comprise it.

EU counts, it is the Union of 27 old states that share the same cultural legacy from the Roman Empire. The same happened with USA, 13 colonies that united.

America is strong and its military is outpacing the world, but if we go leftist then itll definately slow down and other nations will catch up. The EU isn't a nation so it doesn't really qualify. Russia fell from grace and really, it was never a true threat to the US except in Nuclear arms. China is a rising superpower, but they have a long way to go especially since theyre mired in communism. Im actually not sure about India.

The next superpowers, according to most scholasrs, Economologists etc... may be:

1) USA (if they keep their power)
2) EU
3)Russia
4)China
5) India
