  • Just curious about the two chain tiedowns. In their present position, if the prop pitch is changed to "pull the cab forward", the cab SHOULD move forward, as slack in the chain would be created - right? Maybe there is a BIG chain at the rear, that we can't see. OR, the entire procedure was set up to check the BETA mode??

  • @mmichaeldonavon Hi there! There are actually 4 heavy duty chains holding down the PT6A Running Turbine Trainer and torqued to prevent any slack. If there is any slack, the engine control stand will move either forward or backwards depending on the throttle setting. Our trainer is able to operate on all ranges of power setting and this includes the Reverser Range. (we highly recommend no more than 70% for safety reasons and noise pollution). Thanks for the viewing!

  • Ok..understand now. The video "lag" is caused by YouTube uploading software. There is not enough "buffer" for the video to be loaded smoothly since its a large file. I will try again to revise this error by reloading again. Thanks for the comments and please drop message if you got any other questions.

  • I can't get the point in the two cuts at the beginning of the video.

  • @Elhombresombra Can you please explain further? Where are the 2 cuts? Are you referring to the CAD CBT or the PT6 Start-Up? Will like to answer your question. Regards Team AviationNation

  • @1746980j I should have guessed that - thanks. N-6395T (I should get some "slack", by alluding to the "BIG" chain at the rear..." :-) Thanks.

  • @1746980j I am referring to the PT6 Start-Up: at about 0:07 and 0:08, there are clearly two cuts (i.e. "steps" in the RPM progression). Also, the second "cut" causes the video to miss the moment when fuel flow is commenced.
