Shoulder impingment is the risk with newbies trying kipping. You need to the strength and stability of at least a couple dead-hang pull-ups before you try these. That's one problem in some CF gyms, idiot trainers without a clue have out of shape fatasses trying to kip before they can do a signle dead-hang, that is not safe.

When you do these in Crossfit and Fedor from MMA does these, i trust they are worth some.

These pull ups are fucking retarded. Keep your body straight, arms fully extended, then pull yourself up until your chin is above the bar then repeat. Or you could flail around like a dumbass and not get a workout at all.

it's more of a cardio-type thing, dude. for big arms, fuck pull ups, just go bro it up with some creatine and bicep curls..

You are saying is for strength/endurance work out for a certain part of muscle. This kipping pull ups is another variety, that is for another target.

@RanDamme83 actually it does increase gains, they work your muscles in a completely different way than dead hangs, u get a more athletic and explosive movement by using the posterior chain...basically wat ur saying is, why would i do power cleans wen i already do lat pull downs
