Having a long-standing reputation for gangsters and guns, Chicago continues to lead the nation in murders. Gun violence is becoming the leading cause of death among young people. They are gunned down on the streets of Chicago on a daily basis. Some have survived the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, only to lose their lives in Chicago.

On the Frontline is a powerful and insightful documentary that addresses some of the causes, effects and solutions to the senseless gun violence that continues to plague the Chicago metropolitan area. It takes a close look at the impact that gun violence has on some of Chicago's most devastated communities. It asks the question, "Who is to blame and ultimately, what are the solutions?" It informs us on how to safely "break the code of silence."

On the Frontline highlights some ordinary people who are taking extraordinary measures to protect their neighborhoods. Although each character has a unique story, each simply wants to make their community safer.

On the Frontline will make you happy, feel sad and get angry, but most of all it will urge you to do your part to stop the spread of gun violence.
