Being made by Astro Port, the company that made games like Armed Seven and Meglilo (and originally being known as Dark Hell Company...lol), Steam Action Adventum (Adventam) is what you may expect from them; loads of action, simple, yet very functional interface, and a cool throwback to old-school. This game is actually their latest title (as of this typing) and their coolest game to me. You control five girls (of course, who else would you use?) who just so happen to be experts at using steam powered tanks to blow up dozens of enemies in 19th century Europa (The Latin term for "Europe"). Astro Port takes players to a steampunk universe.

Most of the girls (sans Mel) have a pretty happy demeanor...they have no problem with all the carnage, and if you like action, neither will you. The game is fast paced with little to no slowdown, the enemies are big, and they rain missiles and other forms of doom down on your head. The visuals are ok; nothing special, but they get the job done. The music is very appropriate; though it isn't my favorite style of music, I can see what the idea was. It's adventurous and peppy "war" kind of music... it works.

One more thing to add is that while there are five girls, you can only choose three at a time. During the story segments, the girls actually have different conversations with each other depending on the three you choose. Naturally, this leads to several varied conversations. The most interesting character though is Mel; she doesn't speak. Instead, she convoys her thoughts by writing on a board that she carries with her. The length of the message on her board will reflect the length of what she says in its entirety. For example, if she is saying a short statement. She will write one line on the board. If she's saying more, it will be two or three lines. The characters are as follows (in order of intro appearance):

Kasia Hrabal
Milena Zeman
Madeleine
Mel
Hana Amamori

  • i remember playing the demo. It was quite awesome. If you want to get the game, just go to himeyashop [dot] com, though their shipping costs kind of suck.

  • @Vyseblues I didn't know Himeyashop had it; just looked it up. 25 bucks, lol...that's before shipping too. I'm guessing it's a tangible version, though I didn't think they had one. I just spent 15 bucks for the game itself...guess that's pretty good.

  • @Vyseblues Lol, though I should point out that I have made accounts on Japanese sites...some of which weren't at all easy to create. I'm currently a member of Nico Nico Douga and joined a couple Japanese and Taiwanese (?) forums for info.

  • Nope. I don't have an account at either branch of DLsite, though I really should get one. Getting an account gives you "points" when you buy stuff that can eventually add up and let you buy doujinshi and/or doujin games for free. You can add the game to your cart and it has an option to buy under your account or as a guest, using credit/debit cards, etc.

You give them a valid email, phone # and bank card # and you're good to go. Can't complain as most online retailers require this basic info.

  • @Vysethedetermined2 now im really confused...wait...how the heck did you get an account on the JP version of the site?..wait unless you made a "fake" account. Am I right?

  • @Vyseblues The link is in the video description if you're interested in paying for the download version of the game :)

  • @Vyseblues Bought it off of the Japanese DLsite (Maniax), the site where you buy downloadable games. I originally only thought this game was download only because it's not on the English version of DLsite, only Armed Seven and Meglilo.

You can use a translator on the site and charge it to your credit card/debit card: The price for the game is the same as English DLsite...so if a game costs 1260 yen on DLE and it says that it will charge 14.55 in USD, that's how much will come out on DLJ.

  • A most awesome game indeed. Many thanks for this upload. Girls rule doujin games and that makes me smile very wide. Hurray for Tank girls!
