  • Wonderful! :-)

  • This is one wise woman! So this is why food can be an emotional suppressant.

  • TYPO alert: "COINCED" s/b "COINED" lol

  • Did I MISUNDERSTAND you to say you "COINCED the phrase 'coping mechanism'?" U would have to be MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, OLDER than U could possibly be and still be living to have coined that phrase.

I 100% agree that food is certainly used as a coping mechanism. Well documented phenomenon in mental/behavioral health.

  • some interesting points in the video however some of the claims are untrue. the body can emote and digest at the same time. we become addicted to certain foods because they mimic neurochemical aspects of emotions and cause cravings as such. thus the two are interconnected.

  • Is the remainder of this lecture somewhere on the web? I would definitly love to see it.

  • To get the science behind what she is talking about, please read "The Primal Scream" by Arthur Janov. He has also written "The Primal Revolution" "Primal Man"

"The Feeling Child" "Prisoners of Pain". Excellent, excellent books, all. You won't regret the read! ; )
